The TWIN IV. - Our Students in Marl
The TWIN project came to its fourth round. From 2nd to 8th April 2017 our students continued their "Window on Europe" Erasmus+ union financed project in the city of Marl, Germany. The Hungarian delegation consisted of 6 students and 2 teachers: Norbert Murányi(14A), Kristóf Kerék(14A), Kristóf Könye(13A), Bálint Vass(13A), Imre János Marton(14A), Zoltán Radó(14A), Mrs Diána Péter Gángó, Mr István Varga.
The task was the assessment of the project, the analysis and evaluation of the positive and negative issues arisen during the realization and the possible ways how the project could be developed in the future. The main tasks during the week were the coordination of the programming parts, testing the communication with the wall and smart phones regarding the individual countries. Besides the professional programmes they could participate in a number of programmes.They had the opportunity to watch a coal power plant and get acquainted with its operation and further use of energy.They visited the famous football museum, the Dortmund U-Tower with its LED curtain and its control technology.
The team arrived home with lots of unforgettable experiences and professional skills knowing that they still have lots of tasks to be solved.
The full function operating test of the walls and putting them into operation can be expected by early August.
Besides the professional work the participants of the project had the opportunity to get to know the beauty of the host cities, the culture and dishes of other countries. Last but not least, they made friends for a life during their four meetings.
The set up LED walls will operate as windows through which our students can communicate with the students from the other three countries during the school year. We will be able to see their school events, their everyday life, etc. The LED wall can function as well as a screen. We are more than happy to be able to use the wall on our school events. We hope to continue this TWIN project or any other similarly promising and challenging international ones.
The TWIN III. - Our Students in Krosno
The TWIN project came to its third round. From 3rd to 8th October our students continued their "Window on Europe" Erasmus+ union financed project in the city of Krosno, Poland . The project was created with the purpose of setting up four LED walls in four European countries which connect four schools, cities and nations. The participating schools are: Marl - Germany, Krosno - Poland, Parma - Italy. The Hungarian delegation consists of 6 students and 2 teachers: Norbert Murányi(14A), Kristóf Kerék(14A), Péter Németh(14A), Bálint Vass(13A), Imre János Marton(14A), Zoltán Radó(14A), Mrs. Diána Péter Gángó, Mr István Varga.
The one week long programme’s main goal was the realization of the hardware concept which was accepted in Zalaegerszeg. Both the „set-up and testing” were carried out successfully. After the tasks completed in the morning we had cultural programmes and tours in the afternoons. We visited the glass factory in Krosno, took a trip to Solina, dropped by the Beksinski Gallery, the Solina dam, the Nowy Styl automated woodworking factory. The project's final stop will be in Marl, Germany in the spring 2017.
The TWIN II. - Our Students in Parma
The TWIN project came to its second round. From 3rd till the 9th April our students visited Parma, Italy, where they continued the " Window on Europe" Erasmus+ union project. It was set up with the purpose of creating four LED walls in four European countries connecting four schools, cities, and nations. The participating schools are: Marl - Germany, Krosno - Poland, Parma - Italy. Hungary was represented by our school from Zalaegerszeg, Széchenyi István Secondary Technical School. The final product will be a LED wall controlled by an application from a smartphone. The project's official language is English and will last for 2 years. The Hungarian delegation consisted of six students and 2 teachers: Norbert Murányi(13A), Kristóf Kerék(13A), Péter Németh(13A), Bálint Vass(12A), Imre János Marton(13A), Máté Lukács(14A), Mrs. Szabolcs - Krisztina Séfer, Mr Attila Könye. The morning tasks were followed by cultural programmes and tours in the afternoons.
We visited the Parmalat factory which is an automated factory planner and realizer small manufacturer. We took a trip to the Ligur sea shore "Riomaggiore" and "Monterosso" by train. We also dropped by some castles unharmed by history near Parma.
The project's next block will be in Krosno, Poland in October.
The TWIN I. - The first meeting
TWIN – the wall /Information about Europe/ a challenging adventure started in our school yesterday (16th. Nov 2015.). It is a European Union project lasting for two years among four towns, countries. The participating schools are: Marl - Germany, Krosno - Poland, Parma – Italy, Zalaegerszeg, Hungary.The first international meeting was held in our institution in Zalaegerszeg.
The participating students and the accompanying teachers were welcome by Mr. Peter Gecse, the Deputy Mayor of County Town Zalaegerszeg, Mr. Károly Szabó, Director-General of Vocational Training Centre Zalaegerszeg, Mrs. Tünde Braun, Headmistress of Széchenyi István Secondary Technical and Vocational School. The speakers wished a successful and efficient week to the participants in the professional team work.
Before the professional work each team presented a slide presentation introducing their schools and towns they came from.
Then a series of technical presentations followed including the project ideas of each participating team. It was the common basis of the further team work.
In the afternoon our guests and students visited the Göcsej Open air Village Museum and OIl Industry Museum which meant a splendid cultural image on our region from the past. During the excursion Mrs. Smodics - Magdolna Halász showed the visitors round the museums and told them about the sights in English, which is the language of the project.
In the evening there was a football tournament among the teams in our gymnasium. The matches took place in a fantastic atmosphere. All teams played with all, the referees were Mr. Sándor Preisinger and Mr. Ákos Horváth. The Italian and German team played the finals and the Italians won it.
During the week there were lots of interesting programmes for the visitors.
On Tuesday they went to Aqua City, on Wednesday they visited Keszthely and Lake Balaton with Mrs. Diána Péter Gángó, on Thursday and Friday they went sightseeing in Zalaegerszeg with Mrs. Márta Tamás and Mrs. Szabolcs- Krisztina Séfer.
In line with the Project „TWIN-The Wall-Information about Europe
a 2x2 m big LED-wall with an European Information system from students of Germany, Italy, Poland and Hungary will be built up and programmed. The Wall will be installed in the school yard of the involved schools. Every Student, Employee and Guest will be able to get information about the European Union per app on their smart phones and concurrently there will be an additional signalling on the LED-Wall.
The main aim of this Project is the aid of the MINT-authority in context to a European cooperation. The learners enlarge their knowledge task-related about the European Union and get to know the involved counties. In contact with the students of the other project schools they enlarge their intercultural authorities. Because of the different spoken languages on the partner-schools it is necessary to find a common language. The working language of the project is English. The students have to use their English skills and are also able to practice them. The functional focus is the electronic, electrotechnical and the informational area. The project promotes the students’ job-related profile.
